So what exactly are you allowed to do with your commissioned artwork? This page is concerned with rights of use to give you some security and clarify things. If you commissioned custom artwork I grant more rights than for buyers of originals or reproductions. Feel free to message me if you can’t find an answer on this page for your personal situation.
These apply only if we didn’t agree on any other regimentations.

Your rights with commissioned artwork
You may:
-Use the artwork digitally, as avatar on forums or in social networks. You can use it as header or profile picture on Facebook. For this use you can crop and resize the image.
-You may upload the image to online galleries, as long as you name me as the original artist.
-You may print the commissioned artwork for personal use, either on paper, cups, shirts or anything, as long as you don’t intend to sell it.
-You may sell the original. The rights above don’t transfer to the buyer. The buyer has the same rights as someone who “purchased artwork” (further down)
You may not:
-You can not put the image to the internet in full resolution. You may not offer the image in full resolution as download to others. Also you can’t give the full resolution to printing companies, except for your personal use.
-You can not reproduce the images with the purpose of selling them. You cannot use them commercially in general.
-The image cannot be altered, e.g. removal of the signature or color changes. Only exception is cropping.
-You may not claim the image as yours. Don’t claim that you drew it, don’t enter it in competitions or similar actions.
-You can not feed the image into a database used for machine learning (Ai). I dont permit the usage of my work to train Ai under any circumstance.
-You can not mint my artwork as an NFT. If you see my artwork as an NFT you can be sure I did not give permission to this and its a breach of copyright. I will never allow the use of my work for NFTs.
Your rights with purchased artwork
You may:
-You may sell the original. This also applies for reproductions.
You may not
-Reproduce the image, neither for personal nor commercial use.
-Commercial use is prohibited. You may sell no products or digital copies.
-The image cannot be altered, e.g. removal of the signature or color changes. Only exception is cropping.
-You may not claim the image as yours. Don’t claim that you drew it, don’t enter it in competitions or similar actions.
-You may not use the image on the internet. You cannot use photos or scans to use the image as avatar, profile picture, etc. If you buy an original you do not get the right of use of a digital version (if it already exists)
-Only exception is if you make a photo of the original for representation for a resale.
(Often I offer free avatars of my images and I’m reasonable with that. But please ask me beforehand)
Copyright
As creator of my works I always hold the copyright for any of my works, either commissioned of created freely. I grant the right of use only to customers.
My copyright includes my right to
1. Sell my artwork
2. Change my artwork
3. Show it in galleries
4. Use it for advertising purposes
5. Print and reproduce it
6. Enter it in contests and use it in my portfolio
Dropping of rights
In case of a commissioned artwork with recognizable people from the real world or legally protected characters of the commissioner I renounce my right of reproduction, also I will not give the rights of commercial use to anybody else before I made an agreement with the person(s) concerned.
Buying a license
Generally you can purchase a license from me, e.g. for commercial use. This of course does not count for artwork that I renounced my rights for (see above) without an agreement of the person(s) concerned.
The purchase of a license may cost extra, especially in case of a commercial use.
Please contact me or talk about these things beforehand.
